The Asia Pacific Advisory Council aims to represent the needs and interests of ISMTE members in the Asia Pacific region to facilitate sharing of expertise, cultural diversity and broader international engagement in scholarly communication discussions, events and professional development opportunities

To promote ISMTE membership by recognizing those ISMTE members who have demonstrated editorial industry excellence and innovation, and to encourage professional development among our members

To serve as an enduring advisory body to the ISMTE Board of Directors (BOD) and ISMTE committees on practical and meaningful opportunities to sustain and enrich a culture of DEI with the ISMTE leadership, programming, and membership; and to explore broader engagements within the scholarly publishing community to advance DEI for editorial office professionals of all career stages and identity groups.

The ISMTE Early Career Committee strives to be the first point of connection and engagement for both Early Career members (i.e., anyone within one to five years in their scholarly publishing careers). We hope to welcome and encourage new membership with ISMTE and involvement in the scholarly publishing community.

To identify market opportunities (corporate/individual membership, sponsorship) and curate content to comprehensively promote the various offerings of ISMTE (annual meetings, webinars, educational resources, local groups, etc.) so that members and non-members alike are fully aware of the society’s robust portfolio of benefits, with the ultimate goal of increasing member recruitment, retention, and engagement.

To promote a diverse and inclusive international membership by connecting with potential ISMTE members through venues such as social media and conferences, bringing attention to the many benefits and resources that are available with membership, developing helpful information for new members, and maintaining relationships with current members.

To identify ISMTE members for open positions; maintain insofar as feasible a balance among the various professional interests of the membership of the society; encourage the development of our members.

To identify and develop opportunities for external sponsorship of ISMTE membership and activities; liaise with and understand the needs of current and prospective sponsors; and propose policies for ethical sponsorship.
