Workshop Committee

Purpose

To develop in-person educational workshop sessions that will supplement skill development for editorial office professionals and give attendees tangible takeaways to bring back to their professional jobs.

Scope

Liaise with existing and potential members to gain insight into training courses that would be relevant to editorial office professionals
Conduct market/competitive research to determine if workshop ideas are unique and viable for our membership niche
Develop curriculum in consultation with committee members and other relevant ISMTE committees (Education & Standards, Conference Committees, etc.) to ensure cohesion and novelty across ISMTE
Work with ISMTE staff to develop an on-site or virtual format including all needed technologies, spaces, software, etc.
Execute at least 1 workshop per year, with an option for more if budget and resources allow
Report to the Board of Directors on workshop outcomes, successes/failures

Meetings

The Workshop Committee will conduct business through an ongoing schedule of monthly conference calls.
