15th Anniversary Time Capsule Competition

As part of our 15^th anniversary celebrations, we are excited to invite contributions to our time capsule competition! The time capsule will be both looking back at our achievements as a society and looking forward to the role our members see the society playing in another 10 years’ time on our 25^th anniversary.

The time capsule will be digital in nature and will be shared with members during our 2022 Global Virtual Event. To populate the capsule, we would love to hear from our members about the role they see the society playing within the landscape of scholarly publishing in 2032, or you could look back at the memories you have created from your interactions with the society over the last 15 years, for example through creative submissions that express connections to the society over the years, or copies of any archive material that take us on a trip down memory lane.

Entries to the competition should be submitted using the web form below. If you own any hard copy material that you would like to have digitized as a submission but do not have access to equipment to facilitate this, please do reach out to info@ismte.org and we will look to have our office staff support you

Entries are welcome in any digital format. Your entry could take the form of a unique poem, a short animation or video clip, a PDF of archival society documents, a handwritten memory, a poster montage, or photographs from past events. We’ll welcome anything that captures your connection to, or memories of, the society, or your thoughts on the future of the society.

There will be four prizes up for grabs with one winner in each of the following categories:

1. Best overall submission
2. Most unique submission
3. Best historical submission
4. Best future thinking submission

The best overall submission wins a complimentary pass to the Global Virtual Event; a $50 Amazon gift card will be awarded to each winner in the three remaining categories.

The deadline for entries is July 31^st 2022. Winners will be notified 6 weeks in advance of the Global Virtual Event and announced formally at the event.

Terms and Conditions

1. Entries will be judged by the ISMTE 15^th anniversary committee. The committee’s decision is final and binding. Entry implies acceptance of these terms and conditions.
2. Multiple entries across different categories are welcome; each entry will be eligible to win a prize.
3. 15^th anniversary committee members are eligible to submit entries, but will not be eligible to win in any category.
4. The ISMTE cannot accept any submissions with unsecured copyright permissions; consent must be secured from any individuals shown within photographic submissions.
5. Prizes must be accepted as offered by the named winner. There is no cash or alternative prizes, in whole or part.
