In this Office Hours session, Dr. Gemma Derrick will lead a conversation on the continuing impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic on the research ecosystem. Despite the desire to "return to normal," a period of reflection is essential for an effective recovery process and to build resilience for the future. Research plays an important and critical role during times of crisis, and it is important to use this opportunity to make the research process and culture stronger and better. Join this session to discuss how editorial offices and researchers can work together to ease burden, reduce barriers, and develop a sustainable path forward.
Dr. Gemma Derrick is an Associate Professor (Research Policy & Culture) at the University of Bristol, and a Visiting Professor at OSIRIS at the University of Oslo. Her research concentrates on aspects of research behavior under audit, with a particular concentration on peer review and research culture.
Hosted by Meghan McDevitt, ISMTE Immediate-President
