The Editorial Office: An ECC 101-series Seeking some insight into the inner workings of an editorial office? Then join us for this Early Career Committee hosted Office Hour. We will discuss the common tasks, roles, and processes that help an editorial office run smoothly as well as analyze issues that can disrupt the tranquility of a seemingly well-designed workflow.
About the Expert Letitia Glozer, Ph.D., Managing Editor at Technica Editorial Letitia began her editorial career in the comic book industry and returned to publishing after completing her PhD at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. She has served in editorial, administrative, and production roles for publications ranging from comic books and graphic novels to poetry collections; self-help books; federal government funding proposals and reports; and how-to manuals, to monographs and business journals, and has particular expertise with peer reviewed academic publications in the humanities and the sciences. Letitia is an accomplished teacher, writer, editor, and public speaker. In her free time she enjoys music, working as a freelance copy editor, gardening, reading, and traveling. Her pet peeve is bad information architecture. As a Managing Editor at Technica Editorial Services, Letitia copyedits and works with peer review and project management for scholarly journals, books, and occasional projects. About Office Hours ISMTE Office Hours are virtual, one-hour informal events where a single topic is discussed by the attendees. ISMTE Office Hours are facilitated by an ISMTE member who has an interest in the topic at hand. These sessions are free and open to all editorial professionals regardless of member status.
About ISMTE Early Career Committee The ISMTE Early Career Committee strives to be the first point of connection and engagement for both Early Career members (i.e., anyone within one to five years in their scholarly publishing careers) and non-members. We hope to welcome and encourage new membership with ISMTE and involvement in the scholarly publishing community.
