Let’s face it: as Editorial Office staff, we’ve all received requests from our EICs that make us shake our heads, slump in our chairs, and grumble “Nooooooo” at our computer screens. Whether this reaction is because the request is out of left field (and it can be!) or that it will require money and time (of which there is precious little), our reasons for wanting to dismiss or deny such requests mean very little when facing tenacious editors. In other words, the “Just Say No” policy doesn’t work. As editorial office professionals, we need to find ways to accommodate, manage, and, in many cases, meet the expectations of our editors, all while balancing the priorities and resources of our societies and organizations. In this Office Hours session we'll share with you tips and tools we've used to managed our EICs' expectations and look forwarding to hearing from you on how you manage yours. We will all walk away with the knowledge necessary for engaging in a true partnership with our editors.
Office Hours with ISMTE sessions are free to editorial professionals, but registration is required.
