In today’s high-pressure scholarly publishing environment, mental health has become a critical topic, not just for researchers but also for the professionals who support the publishing process. Throughout the past several years, new threats to research integrity, mandate-induced pressures, and rapid technological advancements such as generative AI, amplified by global political tensions and the lingering effects of the pandemic, have intensified stress and burnout across our industry. This webinar will explore how these challenges affect everyone involved, from researchers and peer reviewers to editors and publishing staff.

Empathetic leadership and psychological safety can be powerful tools in addressing these concerns. By fostering a culture of compassion and understanding, publishing leaders can create more supportive environments that help mitigate stress, enhance job satisfaction, and improve productivity. We will also discuss how prioritizing mental well-being leads to higher-quality research and a healthier, more sustainable publishing ecosystem.
